12 WONDERFUL WEDDING PLANNING TIPS BY RECENTLY MARRIED COUPLES

Wedding Planning Tips By Couples From Hello May and I do I do Gippsland

Hello May and I do I do Gippsland are two of my fav Wedding Mags. They are amazing when it comes to finding inspiration. I recently got my hands on the 2019 and 2021 Real Wedding Special by Hello May, Boy it’s simply mind blowing! If you are planning anything wedding related then you cannot go past these magazines that are filled with more than 250 pages of Real Wedding Inspiration!

Thanks to the Editor Robyn at “I do I do Gippsland” I was incredibly fortunate to do an editorial photo shoot for it’s fifth edition, due to be released in Oct this year and had the honour of working with local vendors, from florists to jewellers, dress makers, make-up and hair artists and lots more. It was a true honour and I cannot wait to get my hands on a copy!

While reading these beautiful magazines I realised how nice it would be to share some of its lovely tips from recently married couples who have been through the experience of planning such beautiful and wonderful Weddings.

  1. HAVE FUN in the process of organising the wedding. This is your special day- no one else’s. Wedding planning shouldn’t be overwhelming or stressful unless you bring it upon yourself. Keep it simple and warm - Natalia & Martin. (Hello May)

  2. DONT FEEL PRESSURED to have a wedding for everyone else, at the end of the day you are the ones getting married - Steph & Ben. (I do I do Gippsland)

  3. IT WAS RAINING on our drive to Shack Bay and something magical happened at our Ceremony - out came a rainbow for us to be wed under. Looking back COVID-19 essentially gave us our dream wedding, a day with no fuss and just simply about us and our big love - Ashlenn & Felipe. (I do I do Gippsland)

  4. WE ARE GLAD we did a separate first look between Robbie and I before the ceremony and then went on the bus together with our family and BFF’s to the ceremony. It took all the nerves out of the day and just helped us have the best time- Tegan & Robbie. (Hello May)

  5. TRY NOT TO SWEAT or get overwhelmed about the smaller details, it all unfolds together on the day with the help of everyone. Make time together throughout the day to take it all in - as it is truly magical - Kimberly & Lia. (I do I do Gippsland)

  6. ENJOY EVERY MOMENT of it. Try to accomodate your dreams as much as possible and not let the little trivial issues concern you - Jayne & Ross. (Hello May)

  7. WE ARE GLAD we had such a large bridal party. I initially questioned it, but it’s one of the best decisions I made. Having all of our best friends and siblings with us made the day incredibly fun and it was so special to share with them - Chloe & Jeremy. (Hello May)

  8. CHOOSE FOUR KEY SONGS to tee up with the band, and once they come on, it doesn’t matter who you are talking to, you both have to go straight to the dance floor - Zoe & Wil. (Hello May)

  9. BREATHE take in every moment and know that at the end of it all, you’ll be married to your best friend and none of the small stuff will even matter - Nagiska & Jack. (I do I do Gippsland)

  10. WE ASKED our guests not to take any photos during the ceremony, that way our professional photos didn’t feature a wave of phones in the air. It’s also a great way to ensure everyone is present in the moment too - Dani & Sean. (Hello May)

  11. TRY TO REMEMBER that the day is about the two of you, it’s a celebration of your love. It’s easy to get caught up in so many ways, stay true to yourself - Jess & Jamie. (Hello May)

  12. IF YOUR wedding day does not go to plan, just roll with it, don’t let it ruin your day. Your day will be amazing and memorable no matter how it unfolds. Just relax and have fun and remember why you are getting married in the first place - Tara & Brad. (I do I do Gippsland)
