7 Unique Melbourne Elopement Locations-ROHIT JHAWAR PHOTOGRAPHY

This detailed post comprises of some of Melbourne’s most scenic, grand, stunning, and majestic landscapes that have the promise of creating a heartwarming Elopement for couples that are looking for something different than the usual. I have had the great fortune of personally accompanying and photographing couples on all the below listed locations and what a rewarding journey its been and for which I will be forever thankful to my lovely couples and clients. I have also made the effort to pick diverse settings so that it gives couples variety and options that are best suited to their needs. MORNINGTON PENINSULA.
I have lost count of the hikes I have taken through this nature drenched landscape of Mornington Peninsula. Two of my personal fav hikes are the Cairns Bay cliffs and the long walk that leads to the Bush Rangers Bay beach with stunning cliffs in the background. The general feedback I have had from couples is that it goes beyond the experience of the hike goes beyond the imagery and that it is truly memorable to have taken this beautiful journey together. This is an enchanting place and a nature lovers heaven, its raw and its adventurous, it is waiting eagerly for you to come and explore. 2. MELBOURNE CBD.

The charm of Melbourne CBD, of its graffiti coated alleyways, rustic cafes, hidden bars, the quirky blend of historic and modern architecture, lush green gardens and its compassionate inhabitants make it an irresistible choice for elopements. I love to see this amazing landscape with new eyes each time and create something unique and beautiful that reflects the chemistry and beauty of each individual couple and tell story passionately. Melbourne is full of surprises and hidden beauty that is both there forever and at the same time its ever changing and evolving with elegance and sublimity.

3. DANDENONG RANGES.

Iconic is the word that comes to my mind when I think of Dandenong ranges. The rainforests, sculpted gardens, wild ferns, speciality brewers and tea houses, the list is endless. Some of my fav spots within this landscape are Cloudehill Gardens, Olinda Tea House, Alfred Nicholas Memorial Garden and the Dandenong Ranges Botanic Garden. Once again there are so many more hidden gems and private properties that you can hire for your personal experience and celebration.

4. PHILLIP ISLAND.

Only a couple of hours drive from Melbourne brings you to this breathtaking Island which is known for its hikes, nature trails, walks and stunning coastal beaches. The appeal of this heavenly landscape lies in its rawness and for nature lovers this can be an experience unlike any other. Not far from the Island is the town of San Remo that has some amazing cliff walks that overlook the entire bay and create a surreal, dream like experience.

5. HALF MOON BAY.

A half an hour drive from Melbourne CBD this stunning limestone beach is a hidden gem which will leave you speechless. Its rustic look and feel with the green and gold hues of the rocks and the soothing aqua marine tones of the ocean create a mesmerising landscape which is truly a breathtaking experience for planning a gorgeous elopement. I had the privilege of photographing Cel + Eric’s stunning engagement at this gorgeous location and this place will always be the most memorable…

6. FITZROY.

A truly charming paradise with quirks and a casual style that is simply laidback and chilled. If you are after an in the moment experience that lets the day and its vibe lead you then look no further. Walking through the beautiful alleyways and gorgeously adorned local shops, cafes and iconic landmarks, Fitzroy is the heart of Melbourne and beats with love and generosity of the spirit and life. Hidden gems such as the Abbotsford Convent, Fitzroy Town Hall, Studley Park Boathouse, Alter Electric, Merri Creek, Collingwood Childrens Farm, the buzzing lifestyle of Brunswick Street, its all simply majestic…

7. MELBOURNE BOTANICAL GARDEN.

Like an enchanting forest this breathtaking garden takes you on a journey that is both special and memorable. It has been sculpted with love and passion, rain forests, bamboo groves, cactus gardens, lakes covered in water lilies, ancient trees and vegetation that shares its silent wisdom love. This is a truly touching and romantic landscape that makes your elopement celebrations even more special. Some of the night time images you see below are from an engagement that was photographed during the Lighscape festival at the botanical gardens where in the entire garden was recently covered in creative light installations that millions of people visited over the course of few months.

P.S. Needs a photography permit and would need to arrange a spot for the ceremony with the garden staff beforehand.
